Theo van Doesburg, Design for the central hall of a university
Art, Archaeology and Architecture
(Erich Lessing Culture and Fine Arts Archives)
This artwork for Theo van Doesburg. It present axonometric projection, it has the advantage of translating space in such a way that the changes of scale inevitable in linear perspective in- in the way that a thing in the distance appears smaller than a thing close at hand are -are eliminated. All lines remain parallel rather than receding to a common vanishing point and all sides of the object are at an angel to the picture plane.
