Auguste Rodin, The Three Shades, 1881-86 |
Repetition always implies monotony. If we see the same thing
over and over again, it tends to get boring. However when the same or like
elements-shapes, colors, or a regular pattern of any kind- are repeated over
and over again in a composition, a certain visual rhythm will result. I found
this capture of the three scale but from a different view other than the one in
our text book. From this view I can see the three shades are similar and it’s
more clear that they are all for the same person but different body position.
